replai provides 4K AI-powered highlight clips and tournament livestreaming for tenpin bowling centres.
Bowlers scan a QR code on their lane to opt-in to filming.
The replai AI algorithm then films and tracks the bowlers who have opted-in using their biometric data and what they’re wearing.
Once bowlers have finished their session they can choose to purchase the clips that have been compiled (or not).
How it works for centres
replai pays for all the hardware (cameras, cables and server/computer) to go into a tenpin bowling venue.
replai then works with the venues to install the equipment at low cost, or free of cost (if they have an onsite tech who can run the cable, for example).
We then split the revenue from highlight clips with the venue.
Sales occur either via a one-off purchase from social bowlers (eg. first timers who bowl their first strike), or a monthly subscription for league bowlers.
Venues can also add replai into their birthday or membership packages.

Confession time… We’re not a big fancy corporation.
We’re a husband and wife team who have a lot of experience running an (almost) award-winning marketing agency, called 99content, for 400+ small businesses.
About one year ago, while having a date night at The Keys in Preston, Thea got her very first strike the moment that David stopped filming her bowls (whoops!).
After a little research, we found that no tenpin bowling alleys offered video replays or regular tournament livestreaming, and thought: “well, why not us?”
We have close friends who work in the AI and machine learning space, and after a bit of research and a few calls, chose to team up with a Melbourne-based AI modelling team called Escalo to help us develop replai.
In our spare time we like to surf, spend time at the beach, and go for family trips in our caravan.
